A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

Senior Science Fellow, Envu
Senior Science Fellow with Envu, a company focused on developing solutions to accelerate the restoration and protection of native ecosystems and to be a force with nature, not against it. Prior experience managing tree plantations in South Africa followed by an academic career in the US focused on quantifying outcomes from efficient vegetation management for establishment and maintenance of tree plantations. Industrial experience includes stewarding and developing products for forest establishment, rangeland restoration and crop protection. Current focus is developing and stewarding products for western US rangeland restoration and forest establishment. Education includes a BS in Forest Science from Stellenbosch University, MS in Economics and PhD in Forest Science from Auburn University.
