Katia Karousakis

Biodiversity Programme Lead, Environment, Transitions and Resilience Division, OECD

Katia Karousakis works in the Environment Directorate at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), where she leads the Biodiversity programme. Her work focuses on the economics and policy of biodiversity, covering areas such as effective design of policy instruments, biodiversity finance and mainstreaming. Prior to this, from 2006-2008, she worked on climate change issues within the OECD/IEA Climate Change Expert Group.


An environmental economist by training, Katia has a PhD from UCL, London, and a Masters’ degree from Duke University, USA.
