At World Climate & Biodiversity Summit 2025 in New York, we spoke with Dan Ioschpe, the Climate High-Level Champion for COP30, about the road to Belém 2025 and beyond.
In this interview, he outlines the key priorities shaping the climate and biodiversity agenda, as well as the solutions emerging across critical sectors. He also reflects on what it will take to accelerate progress and strengthen global collaboration, highlighting breakthrough initiatives such as the Tropical Forest Forever Facility, which could drive real change over the coming decades.
"We are trying to get all of the relevant solutions and existing initiatives on the ground in a very practical, pragmatic way so that we can move forward with subjects related to forest, food systems, energy, hard-to-abate sectors in industry, like cement, sustainable aviation fuels, maritime fuels, as well as some of the relevant themes on adaptation and resilience from cities, water, waste management, human development and all of the enabling factors needed to get these things done."
