Ioanna Skondra is Marketing Manager of American Hellenic Hull Insurance Company. She has 10 years of professional experience in public relations and communications.
Mrs. Skondra holds a bachelor’s degree in International, European, and Peripheral Studies at Greece’s Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences and a certification of International Relations and Law at France’s Montpellier Université I. She speaks fluently English, French, and Italian and she has basic communications skills in Norwegian and Swedish.
She was an intern at UNHCR, UNESCO and Euractiv and was head of head public relations for two innovative political platforms aiming to enhance citizens’ participation in decision making processes.
During the period 2015-2018 Mrs. Skondra was a special adviser to the Ministers of Health, Interior & Administrative Reconstruction and Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy of Greece and she was responsible for the Minister’s policy and communications strategy, the co-operation with international and European organizations, she was leading projects with regards to EU funding mechanisms and was also responsible for the Ministry’s sustainability and circular economy strategy.
Since 2018 she is American Hellenic Hull’s Marketing Manager responsible of the company’s marketing strategy and public presence. In addition, she is in charge of the company’s sustainability strategy working closely with UNEPFI Principles for Sustainable Insurance and Blue Economy Finance Initiative, and she is member of the steering committee of the Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative.
