A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

A trained fish biologist, Dan worked in fish health research before joining the insurance sector in 2000. Starting his insurance career as a specialist aquaculture claims broker, he went on to become the senior aquaculture underwriter at RSA before moving back into broking, heading up the Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Division at WTW.
While there he also helped develop a number of environmental insurance initiatives looking at protecting natural capital, and also the use of bundled financial products to incentivise environmental stewardship in the fishing and farming sectors.
Recently Dan moved to Gallagher as Executive Director of the UK Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Division, and is also a member of the Gallagher UK ESG Committee.
Outside of insurance Dan is also a Trustee of the Shark Trust, a UK charity supporting the global conservation of sharks, skates and rays.
